For students aiming to enrol themselves in US universities then next is the fall intake. Although the admission process starts  a year in advance, which means in August, we still are not very far from it. The earlier you start the better it is. An application process is quite a task especially when you have to aim for top notch universities. Following a step by step process will ease it out for you and will help you achieve your goal well in time. Fall intake is also known as the September intake and it is most popular amongst the students. Also a large number of universities in the USA accept students in Fall Intake.

First steps for your fall intake application

  1. Research University and programs

There is a plethora of Universities in the USA, always start with shortlisting universities that you wish to go for. This makes it easier for the application process. You must consider the factors like the course, duration, location, fee and the student life at the university before shortlisting. Be clear in your mind about which course you want to pursue and the career prospects after it. Also research about the work opportunities after you have completed your course.

2. Prepare and take standardised Tests

So there are few standardised tests that every university in the USA requires its students to go for. You will need to take either IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, PTE. Each course requires the scores of a particular test depending upon the skill set. It is recommended to take the tests required as soon as possible  and make sure that the scores are available before the application deadline.

3.Gather Required Documents

For your application process, there are a number of documents that you need to submit such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal statements, essays, and proof of English proficiency. Gather these documents well in time and submit them as per your application demands.

4.Complete the Application

Applications are long and they consume a lot of time too but completing them in time will always help you to move onto the next step. Double check your application after completing in order to avoid any errors and goof ups.

5. Submit Application Fee

Each university has a different application fee. You need to plan your finances accordingly so that you do not go overboard just in application fee.

6.Track your Application

It just does not end there. You also have to keep a track on the status of your application. Keep a check on the online application portal or by emails. Make sure if your university has received all the documents.

7. Apply for a student visa

After you have received an acceptance letter from the university of your choice, it is now the time to apply for the student visa (F-1 or J-1). This process takes time, so start preparing all the documents you need for the visa process and apply as soon as you get the acceptance letter.
