Scholarships for General Category Students to Study Abroad

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a scholarship scheme for students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to general category (unreserved) students, enabling them to study at top-ranked universities globally.

Under this scheme, the government will offer 20 scholarships to eligible students pursuing postgraduate (PG) and doctoral (PhD) programs.

Key Highlights of the Scheme:

1. Eligibility Criteria:

   • Students must have secured at least 60% marks in their qualifying exams.
   • Only candidates admitted to foreign universities with prior government approval will be eligible.

2. Financial Support:

   • The scheme covers all expenses up to $40,000 USD for the duration of the program.
   • Any additional expenses beyond this amount will need to be borne by the student.

3. Supported Destinations:

   • The scheme is applicable to universities in countries such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, France, and other select nations.

4. Application Process:

   • Interested candidates can apply online at the Department of Higher Education’s official website: education.mp.gov.in.
   • Applications are open for students starting their studies between January and June 2025.

5. Program Scope:

   • The scheme is limited to PG and PhD programs. Scholarships will not be offered for undergraduate courses.
